POSITION SUMMARY |
The Manager, International Investments will be responsible for managing the US and/or the European third party managed portfolio. This position will report directly to the Director and will be responsible for managing a team of at least 2, comprised of financial analysts and corporate accountants. The key responsibilities will be financial review and variance analysis for various international investments (including direct investments, funds and development projects) managed by third parties, accounting for new acquisitions, preparation of statutory and audited financial statements, ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance and reporting the results of the US or European region.
RESPONSIBILITIES |
The position requires strong analytical and communication skills. The individual will also require knowledge of the real estate industry and be able to apply various reporting principles. The individual should have experience working in a large corporation with a complex organizational structure.

Financial review and variance analysis for
various international investments · Timely and accurate completion of monthly, quarterly, year-end and budget reporting, assistance and co-ordination of the interim and year-end audits and completion of tax financial statements and working papers for various legal entities. ·
Responsible for all aspects of General Ledger
accounting · Recording of transactions including acquisitions, dispositions, and development funding and researching and applying the proper accounting treatment for each investment. · Review documents and agreements as they pertain to transactions, research accounting issues and provide recommendations. · Assist with the establishment of standardized reporting, policies and procedures and systems to support a global asset management platform. · Ensuring consistent application of accounting standards, principals, policies and procedures in accordance with local GAAP for each jurisdiction and IFRS. · Responsible for review or preparation of statutory and audited financial statements in accordance with applicable GAAP. · Responsible for ensuring compliance with tax and regulatory requirements such as US REIT compliance. · Other analyses and special projects as required by Director. ·

QUALIFICATIONS: |
· University degree. · Chartered Accountant Designation, Certified Management Accountant, or Certified General Accountant · Minimum 7 years accounting experience, minimum 2 years’ experience as a manager, minimum 2 years’ experience in industry. · Knowledge of real estate accounting -working with Retail, Residential and/or Commercial Real Estate assets. · Experience working with businesses in various international markets and jurisdictions and experience working with multi-currency. · Experience with financial reporting and consolidation and working with complex organizational structures. · Experience dealing with complex transactions and acquisitions/dispositions. · Experience dealing with full preparation of consolidated financial statements. · Experience managing a team. ·
